Has anybody had an internal failure in the shifter assembly with their autoshift? Tom noticed that when he uses the autoshift it would slip into a different gear for no apparent reason. We took it to the Chrysler dealer and they checked it out and were surprised to find the the shifter assembly had failed. They quoted us over $2,200.00 to replace the entire assembly. YIKES! We only have 18,400 miles on the car. This shouldn't happen on a car with such low mileage. Luckily it doesn't seem to affect the shifting while in "regular" mode. Oh, and of course the part is not covered under the extended, limited, warranty! cjb

Hello AaronWeikart! Welcome to the .net site. We've been members for about four years now and have only "heard" about the other site....and not good things either.
Hope you will visit and post when you can. We check it out but not as much as we should. Enjoy your Black Beauty!

Here's the latest on the battery issue. We first tried to jump start it with a portable charger/air compressor, the car gave a slight indication that it was going to turn over but started clicking. Then we pulled our other vehicle to the front of the Xfire and tried to jump it with the other car...still only clicking. Darn!! Then we charged up the portable chargers (we have two) and then hooked one of them up to the car battery for over an hour. Next morning did the same thing two more times. The battery in the car seemed to be holding some charge because the clock still worked and the trunk light would come on. Monday we tried the car battery to car battery again and YEAH the Xfire started right up!!
BTW..Costco does NOT have a battery for the Crossfire, not even in their premium "Optimum" line of batteries! I don't know about Sam's Club, we aren't members. Hope it starts next time! Batteries, here in southern AZ, don't last long because of the heat and the thought of paying $216 for one doesn't thrill me at all!

The original battery just croaked in our 2006 roadster. Anybody have any ideas where we can buy a replacement at a fair price? Costco? mopardiscountparts.com has a battery for $103.85 plus $9.50 shipping via UPS. Interstate batteries has the "Mega-Tron Plus" for $163.95 which seems kind of expensive. Any thoughts out there? Thanks! cjb

OK..thanks Connie. I Google mapped the hotel in Benson and it shows travel time of about 3 hours & up to 4 if there is traffic. I think it would be difficult for us to do the tour on the same day as driving down. Guess we'd have to leave by really early in the AM to be to the caverns by 10:30AM. Probably wouldn't work unless we could drive down the night before and leave Benson after lunch on Saturday. Will get back to you.

Out of curiosity....what time will you be going to Kartchner Caverns? We might, just might, be able to come down on Saturday to go to the caverns.

VegasCrossfire wrote:We took a hit to the windshield on our way home and got a BIG chip in it. Yesterday we had the windshield replaced, so now it is nice and clear. You don't realize how pitted the windshield gets until you look through a brand new one!! BTW - I had set my trip odometer back to 0.0 in the garage before we left. When I turned the engine off, back in the garage, my trip odometer was at 199.0. Nice trip!! Speed demon??? Limit was 75 and I kept the cruise control at 79 ..... always 4-5 miles above limit whatever was posted. I didn't hear anyone tell me to slow down!!
How big was the chip? Bigger than a quarter? Our ins. won't replace the windshield unless it's bigger than a quarter or if it cracks and spreads bigger than a dollar bill. UM..but I think if it's in your line of sight they will replace it. We took about three hits but no major damage.
I got gas on Thursday before the hook-up and had zeroed the odometer at CostCo...when we got home from the hook-up it showed exactly 186.0 miles & I thought how strange, no tenths.
Maybe our speedometer is off cause I looked at it when the posted speed was 75 and ours read 83! I don't feel comfortable going that fast when there are so many cars around.
