Naaaaa - nothing "serious" caused the cancellation.
The owners of the house actually wanted to use the house themselves that night for a party and had to have workers in there during the day getting it ready...so no room for us!! Can you imagine them wanting to have a party there ?? hahahaha
We were disappointed about not being able to go - but we sure understand!

Ha hahahaha - I WISH we could have a caretaker.
No - the caretaker is at the Goldwater Home. She needs to be there to let us in and show us around. This house is NOT a museum or a public place. New owners have lived in it for several years, but travel quite a bit. Their caretaker is friends with Mike and she is kind enough to let us come visit (with the permission of the owners of course).

WOW!!! It was 2 years ago that we did this Hook-Up. Mike has once again arranged for us to see this beautiful house.
If you are planning to go on the Hook-Up, please respond as soon as possible because we need an accurate count a couple of weeks before the hook-up.
Mike (azxfire1) has arranged for us to take a tour of Senator Barry Goldwater's "old" home built on Scorpion Hill, overlooking Paradise Valley, Phoenix and Scottsdale with 360 degree views. It was built by Frank Lloyd Wright with almost no right angles in the home or guest home (mostly 30 and 60 degree angles). Both houses have been renovated. The main house originally was 5,000 sq. feet with 4 bedrooms and is now 8,000 square feet with just 2 bedrooms!!
It should be a beautiful sight to see. Who would like to join us???? We will have lunch afterwards.
We will meet at the SouthWest corner of Tatum and Shea...in the Fry's parking lot. Meeting time will be 10:00AM.
For those of us coming from the west valley, we will meet earlier and convoy on over to the east side!
After our tour - we will do lunch somewhere (to be announced).
