Anyone out there price tires lately? I got a darn nail in my sidewall and have to go on a fishing expedition for the best price tire. Any help would be beneficial.
Also - do the stock tires come with any warranties for this type of thing>? I have Michellins on there stock.
Thanks for the help in advance!

Thank you - I'm sure you get as many compliments on yours as I do on mine :)
Going further - just for kicks - on my way home from So. Cal. on a business trip some guy was driving a tricked out Lotus on the 99. Played a little cat and mouse with the guy before dusting him out. Stupid Lotus - what was he thinking?!?!?!
Still having fun with Cross!

Mbepic,
Thanks for the clarification above - you are right. I was typing angry so it probably didn't make much sense. lol
I love the car - and I am keeping it as best I can for collectibility sake. It is tough to look at and not want to drive everyday though.
I will go get a 0% credit card for the 2k extra and complement with the re-finance. I will save $100 per month and pay it off a year sooner. Yeah :)
Just really upset about the value still - arg. I told my wife - I guess everything has to depreciate before it can be appreciated. lol

Hello all, Been a long time since I posted, and this latest got me on the computer.
I went to re-fi my SRT6 for a lower rate - I owe 30k on it right now and bought it new in '05. I bought it for the 30k I owe on it now, but I added 10k worth of warranties and taxes and all that out the door. I don't drive my SRT6 unless it is for a client meeting or just for some fun so with only 18k miles on it I think I am doing really great keeping this car a collectible!
(The warranties came in great handy when my oil filter O-Ring popped out in the middle of no where and I had to get towed 50 miles to the nearest dealership to have it fixed - ALL FREE!!!!) Caution - don't go 80 on country roads with bumps.
Given the rarity of this car, my low miles, and the fact that this car ROCKS - Kelly Blue Book still rates the highest value at 25k!!!
Is that even RIGHT??? I think it is MAJORLY undervalued and the stupid credit union won't go above 28k for it so I have to make up the difference in the loan value to take advantage of a 2.4% decrease in interest rate!
Can anyone tell me why this car has depreciated SO MUCH when so few were made???
Anyone else know what they pay for these cars these days at dealerships? Just curious if anyone is dealing with this frustration.

THANKS RPM!!!
You really helped out a lot!
Yes the car is already fast!!! I found that out by fish tailing into a curb when I had the traction control on and it just held the road hard core and the engine reved like a wild stallion. Luckily the alignment was the only thing that got screwed up.
I doubt I will ever go with an upgrade but it is interesting to read - and I am interested in knowing what it is like when you get one so please post your results!!!
Obviously I would be more apt to do it if it increased my gas mileage - I run 21 mpg EVERYWHERE no matter how fast I drive - city and highway. I only take it on business trips which is why a big fish tale caught me by surprise.
Thanks again and hope to read more from you!

Glad you are having a great experience - I am working on possibly upgrading to get more power with the chips and pulleys and stuff but I think I will be ok for a while given the price of that.
As far as the oil change - I found the oil at Auto Zone for $6.19 a quart - which is MUCH better than what they will charge you at the dealership or anywhere else. Also - become good friends with the guy who runs the gas station you frequent and he will hook you up with the oil at his/her cost whch would be like $4-5 a quart. (I didn't get a chance to get the hook up this time around but will next time - it helps to give the guy a little starbucks card too) The lowest oil I found was at Pep Boys for 5.90 a quart - so it pays to do a little shopping!
Look forward to reading more about your SRT6!

I got the K&N filters from Auto Zone in CA for $44 each. It takes a few calls but that is the best price I could find.
I may have to look into the cabin air filter though given that my area is REALLY dusty.

crossfirefun wrote:golfguy79 wrote:What is an ECU upgrade and how do I get one>? It is the engine control computer. You can remove it and have it reflashed at a speed shop that specializes in Mercedes engines. Do a search on this forum or the other one for ecu upgrade. check here: http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16609
Is it worth doing? - do you have one?
