OK….everyone has been waiting for the “next hook-up”. It has been a long time coming.
Maybe it isn’t really Montezuma’s Revenge, but that’s all I could think of to call this since we will be visiting Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well.
We figure this will be “Part 1” and we will discuss the longer “Part 2” while we are together.
Here is the plan:
For those of you coming from the south ….. we will meet at I-17 and Happy Valley.
As you get off I-17 at Happy Valley - go east. Immediately after getting out of the roundabout-there is a right turn driveway in to the shopping center. There is a TGIFriday's on the right side of the parking lot. Let's meet there. We will be there by 9:15AM and will leave there by 9:30AM.
For those of you coming from the north….we plan to get to the Verde Café in Camp Verde just a little before 11AM – so you can meet us there.
After eating and catching up, we will go to Montezuma Castle. We can then go to Montezuma Well after that.
Depending upon the time, we can either just head back home or stop somewhere else to sit and chat, etc.
FYI – The admission charge for Montezuma Castle is $5 each. There is no charge for entrance into Montezuma Well.
If you have never been to either place before, be prepared to be amazed! It will require some walking, so make sure you wear comfy walking shoes and since it could be cold, make sure you have some warm clothes with you.
While we are all together, we would like to discuss a trip….maybe a LONG day trip or overnight for those of you who are up to that. I know Roy has a suggestion to make so I’ll let him throw his suggestion for “Part 2” out there. It would be nice if anyone has any ideas to be ready to discuss them on the 27th or here if you can’t make the hook-up on the 27th.
“Part 2” will most likely be in April.

Yes - I will look for a specific place for the rest of us to meet at Happy Valley and I-17. Just haven't gotten that far yet.

I'm trying to picture Happy Valley and the #303 Loop.............seems to me that there is a lot of construction at that point.
Do you want me to wait at the 'three-way stop' sign, or do I have an incorrect image of that intersection.........maybe, I could park it up on one of those cement barriers?

I see no reason why a 370Z Roadster cannot join us. But they will have to be at the "end of the line" like Gene & Jo always are when they join us in their non-xf!

Yup, I timed it last night and it takes exactly 12 mins. to get from the Loop 303 to Fry's at I-17 & Happy Valley!

Well this may sound funny to some of you in Phoenix but one Xfire is in the garage by the guest house and that will not see the light of day till Mar/Apr because garage door has 4 to 5 feet of snow and the same for the entry drive way to it. This is were I put my excess snow. The other is more accessible but ice conditions from melting snow determine whether it wall make it up the drive way. Rear well drive on steep icey driveway is a no-no.
So I may be in the back of the line with either a 4Matic Mercedes or AWD Chevy Van but I really want to come.
On the other web site they are having a great trip/GTG in September for the Fall colors. in Colorado It really looks like a beautiful trip too.

One of the reasons I chose going north was in the hopes that you and Brenda could join us. I hope you will join us, if even in a different vehicle.

Whoa there buddy! It took you 12 minutes to get to I-17 from the 303?? You must have been flying! There are at least 7 or 8 traffic lights in between there too. We'll see C & D at 8:50 at 67th Ave & Happy Valley and maybe you too? Or at least at I-17 & Happy Valley. BTW I don't believe there is a Fry's at I-17 & Happy Valley Road.

I "think" he was thinking of 67th & Happy Valley (not I-17)....cause that is the 12 minute interval I was talking about.
