On Tuesday evening I took my baby in for a service and to get a bulb replaced in my driver's side headlamp. I was to pick up the car Wednesday but I came down with a bug, Thursday Ken was too busy to take me...which leads me to today. I paid for the service and handed off the key to the service guy to get my car. About 10 minutes later he comes back and says it will be a bit because the battery is dead. WHAT? It takes them a half hour to charge it!?!?! DOUBLE WHAT!?!?! They are guessing they left the lights on after replacing the bulb. I guess the "Hey Dummy, you left the lights on" bell didn't alert them. Then they tell me to drive around for a half hour to make sure that the battery is recharged. TRIPLE WHAT!?!?!
I wasn't amused. My poor little baby.

I have a feeling the service for our cars is really going to go down with all the "changes" recently made. Our Chrysler dealer has now become a Nissan dealer, but still sent us a card letting us know that they have changed but would still like to take care of our Crossfire!!!
So is your car still running OK????

I think I have paid for my dealer's five stars...in platinum!! Last month, $1,000+ for ignition switch in my Crossfire; this month, $2,000+ for steering (and who knows what else) issues on my Town and Country.

And my saga with the "Not so 5 Star Service" continues......
Last Friday my head light went out again. I was almost due for a service so I thought "I'll make an appointment for next week".
Saturday I get in my car, started it up and it died immediately. After that first initial engine noise, the key turn only resulted in
"click click click". *sigh*
I call my road service, they IMMEDIATELY sent out a Battery Specialist. Wasn't the battery. (BTW, Roodle was his first Crossfire he
was practically giddy.) He called for a tow truck to tow me to the dealership of the "No So 5 Star Service". I called ahead to make
sure it was okay. No problem even though they weren't open. I was sick that my car would have to spend the weekend outside in
the rain, but sometimes you got to do what you got to do.
On Monday morning I called the dealership to make sure they had my car in the line-up of cars to work on. The usual service
adviser was out for the week. They connected me to someone else, Mike. Mike said the car was there and they would get to
it BUT...there was one hang up. "Mike" was their Crossfire mechanic and since he was taking over "Bob's" position when "Bob"
was out, that I would have to wait a week!
*sigh* there isn't another Chrysler dealership around anymore. This is my only choice. To say the least, I'm VERY disappointed,
upset at the situation and angry.

Normadin Chrysler in San Jose has had my Roadster for over a week. If you read ^up^
my car had to be towed because it wouldn't start and they were short a few people so the
ONLY Crossfire mechanic couldn't work on my car till this week.
I called again and have left TWO messages asking about my car. I came back from lunch
to find a message on my machine saying that they think (yes they THINK) they know what
the problem is and have to order a part from Detroit. Good news is that part (if it is what
they THINK is wrong with the car) is covered under warranty. Bad news, because of the
holidays they won't be able to get to it for at least another week.
Ken is going to go with me after work so we can talk to them in person. I'll let my 6'4"
Hubby go at 'em.
Another week of my poor little car sitting in the rain. Okay, I can't say more, or I will
say a bad word.

Such a long time since we have shared emails, I am sorry to hear about the service problems for you XF - maybe you should ship your XF to Korea, come and visit with Ken, and we can have the best Hookup imaginable!
We can drive our XFs to Busan and take the Ferry to Japan and drive there and then return. After our trip, I will take you to my mechanic for a really full service XF Experience and then ship you baby back to SF.

Yes my email address is the same. I have been through a difficult year but things are looking better. Korea is Korea but at least I have a job teaching music to US Service members and that is not a bad thing these days. If I was back in the US I would be lucky to find a job a Burger King.
Yes, I have been terribly absent from our community but one of my New Year's Resolutions it to be reengaged. I shall make a concerted effort to do so on a regular basis.
I am so sorry to hear about your problems with your XF - that is why I suggested you ship it here for servicing - while Koreans are as crazy as they come, they do perform excellent After Service on automobiles and all products as well.
Let's stay in touch. I still wish to visit Ken and you one of this days.

Just thought I would give an update. Still no car. They are waiting for parts from Detroit. If I don't have it on Friday that means I won't get it till next week and Saturday will mark the 4 week mark.

Do you all know if there is anything I can legally do about the dealership having my car for almost a month? I keep getting excuses but no action. I'm so angry now that if I go in I will cry. Ken is out of town until February so I can't send him in to bully them. It's so frustrating.

Not much you can do if they are truly waiting on parts from Detroit..............do you believe that to be really the case?

All I know is they ordered the part a week ago Monday. It was due in a week ago Thursday but didn't. I've called every day this week and finally today my 5 star rep said "Gee, maybe I should do a tracer and see where that part is". Connie would kill me if I said what I wanted to say to him on this forum.

After 42 days I finally got my car back.
Anything I would have to say about how they treated me,
what they did right (nothing) and wrong would just be
useless whining.
I've got it back though.
