Warning light... help

Last night I noticed a light had come on in my car that I had never seen before, its on the left side of the gauge cluster, at the very bottom left hand corner. it has a circle with 3 lines on both sides of it. ( can't figure out how to put a picture if someone would tell me). I can email the picture if needed.
It only comes on when i apply the brakes and when i let off, it goes away. Clearly this has something to do with the brakes. In the owners manual it shows all the symbols for the indicator lights and and none of them is what I am seeing, Looks similar to the ABS warning light.

Wolf, welcome to the Xfire Community Forum;
Unfortunately, I don't have my Xfire or Owner's Manual handy to check exactly what you are seeing BUT I would be very surprised if that indicator light is not referenced in your Owner's Manual; now, IMO, I think you are probably getting an indicator for 'brake pad wear' sensor. I know for a fact that there are electronic sensors in the front brake pads/calibers for that purpose.
When did you last have your brake pads changed.............are you in a position that you could remove a front wheel (my guess would be the front, without knowing a little more about your Xfire) and check the amount of metallic left on those pads. When the material wears down, the electronic sensor/prong will make contact with the rotor and thus indicator light; that is a very simplistic explanation but I think you will understand what I mean.
Until you mentioned that the indicator only comes on when you apply the brakes, I really would not have known exactly what indicator symbol is used (again without my manual) BUT I think you have provided enough evidence of what the problem is.
Let us know if you have other information that might prove me wrong on this.

A circle with three dashes on either side and a "!" in the middle is the brake wear indicator.
Replacing the pads is fairly easy, get rotex gold or Axxis pads, both give very low dust, so the rims look good
and don't get dirty real fast.
BTW, I have the service manual on cd, so that helps a lot

I concur...............get replacement Rotex Gold pads, at least for your fronts.
They are not difficult to change BUT make sure you reinstall that 'electronic wire' for the indicator sensor!

Thanks for all the help guys, that's exactly what it was, just ordered the rotex gold pads today!
FREAKING JERK!
I stopped by the Dodge/Chrysler dealership on my way back from lunch and asked them what it was and they had no idea 
So then I called the Mercedes Benz dealership to ask them, and they kept telling me that IT'S A CHRYSLER NOT A MERCEDES.
I told him very politely I know that, but the Chrysler place told me to call up hear since it Mercedes engineering. The guys starts yelling at me, WHAT PART OF THAT @#$% CAR IS NOT MADE BY MERCEDES DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND. I'M TIRED OF YOU GOD @#$% #$% HOLES CALLING UP HERE ABOUT THOSE CARS.
By this point I was just, shocked, so I just hung up. But here's the thing, the Crossfire has a 3.2L Mercedes engine, and everything from the brake fluid container the little plastic clips that hold the trunk together, either has German words on it or the Benz emblems on it.
Thought you guys would get a kick out of that!

That is funny and SAD at the same time..................unfortunately, it ain't going to get any better.
If I were you, I would be calling to talk to the owner of that dealership and inform them that they may have lost a future Mercedes customer................because you must have a wife, brother or other family member that potentially WAS a candidate for a nice new German Mercedes automobile............maybe BMW is looking a little better now.  You should not have to listen to crap like that, no matter what car you drive.
